Introduction:

Dates have been used as food in many cultures. They are full in nutrients such as protein, calcium, manganese,  and other vitamins and minerals, and a kilogram of dates contains about 3000 calories which is the average intake that would sustain your body all day.

 In the Quran:

"And shake towards you the trunk of the palm tree ,it will drop on you fresh ripe dates"Quran,19,25“And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighboring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand! (Qur’an, 13:4)

 In the Sunnah:

Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is reported to have said: "if anyone of you is fasting, let him break his fast with dates. In case he does not have them, then with water. Verily water is a purifier."
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Break your fast by eating dates as it is purifying.” (Narrated by Ahmad)

Modern science:

Lab analysis of dates has enforced the Quran miracle of ordering the Virgin Mary to eat dates to help with her pregnancy. They contain stimulants that strengthen the muscles of the uterus, which helps with dilation at the time of delivery and reduces the bleeding after delivery. They are also beneficial for the babies, since the milk produced by their mothers is rich in nutrients.
Dates have high tannin content and are used medicinally as a detersive (having cleansing power) and astringent in intestinal troubles. This also proves the wisdom of why the prophet used to break the fast with dates. As scientifically proven, the fast detoxifies the body, and breaking the fast with dates helps continue the process.
Dates are Godly foods, and if we incorporate them in our diet, we would certainly feel the difference in our bodies.
