Sex is a biological process, a physical activity, and a spiritual connection. Sex in Islam is not a taboo subject; in contrast, it’s been discussed publicly by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and many hadiths and Quranic verses educate Muslims on this subject. In our research, we have come across a book that examines sex in the institution of marriage. The book is titled “The Muslim marriage guide” by Ruqaiyyah Waris Maqsood, and the following is an excerpt from the book where the author eloquently speaks about sex, marriage, and Islam.

Sleep amount: Do we need eight, six, seven, more or less hours of sleep? This is the question that a lot of sleepless nights have been spent on, in order to determine the magic sleep number. I remember one night I was socializing with friends. It was getting late, so I asked one of them, who is a brain surgeon, when they were supposed to be at work. He replied in 4 hours! So, I asked the eternal question of how much sleep does a human being needs to get enough rest, and perform to their at most potential. He replied that he only needed 4 hours of quality sleep, and that every person’s needs are different.

The word “Hijama” in the Arabic language comes from “Hajama” or “Ahjama”, which respectively mean “to return to its original volume”, and “to not go forward”.

How convenient is it to find a cure for all ailments in one substance? I think that would save us a lot of money in health care costs, and would make life more enjoyable. Well, in fact, there is a plant that the prophet of Islam (PBUH) has described as the cure for every disease except death. Nigella sativa, black cumin, Al-habate Souda, Habate Al-Barakah, “Seed of blessing”, Kalonji in Hindi, or Siyah daneh in Persian, these are all names for the same plant, native to southwest Asia that the Prophet Mohammed exalted its medicinal properties.

Health is a balance of physical, mental and social well being in a person. In this article we are going to concentrate on physical health which is only one column that sustains our general health. Every one of us strives towards an optimum health condition. However, most of us don’t really do anything about it. The Quran has many verses that urge us to be modest, to not consume in excess, to reflect in God’s bounties, but yet we are mindless, and keep on our excessive ways.
